Rank My Clinic is a library of self-assessment instruments for aesthetic clinics in the United Kingdom. Clinics run them on their own operations and get a defensible result. We rank nothing and nobody.
The name
The domain is rankmyclinic.co.uk, and a visitor arriving on that name deserves an immediate answer about what it means here. It does not mean a league table. There is no directory on this site, no ranked list of clinics, no top ten, no award, no best-of, and no comparison of one clinic with another. There never will be.
What the name resolves to is the question a clinic owner is actually asking when they type it: how good is my clinic, and how would I know. That question can be answered without ranking anybody, by measuring an operation against written criteria. That is what this publication does.
What an instrument is
Every piece of content here is an assessment a clinic runs on itself: a scorecard, a checklist, a rubric, a readiness assessment, a gap analysis or a decision matrix. Each one states what it measures, how it is scored, what each band means, what it explicitly does not tell you, and the next action for each band. The scoring method is published in full.
Scoring runs entirely in your browser. Nothing is stored, nothing is transmitted to us, and closing the page clears the result. Every instrument carries a print stylesheet so a clinic can print it and complete it on paper, which several clinics prefer for anything involving more than one person.
What we will not publish
- A ranking of clinics, in any form, under any heading.
- A directory or listing of clinics, paid or unpaid.
- A ranked or recommended list of agencies, suppliers or consultants. We name none.
- An award, a badge, a certification or an accreditation.
- An invented statistic, industry average, benchmark or study. Where a rubric would need a benchmark to be meaningful, we state that no reliable public figure exists and score against criteria instead.
Sources
We cite institutional sources we are confident exist: the ASA and CAP codes, GMC guidance, the CQC, the MHRA, the JCCP, the ICO, the FCA where credit is involved, legislation.gov.uk, W3C, GOV.UK content standards, Google Search Central and Schema.org, and NICE or NHS material where a clinical point arises. If we are not confident a source exists, we do not cite it.
How this is funded
Two lines, both stated plainly on the funding page with the rate card.
The first is the assessment pack: the full library as printable scoring workbooks with scoring guides, delivered to newsletter subscribers, with a paid tier for the complete set including the multi-site and re-scoring workbooks.
The second is a single labelled sponsor slot on instrument pages, sold at a published rate. A sponsor cannot influence a criterion, a band, an interpretation or an instrument's existence, cannot see an instrument before publication, and cannot be named inside one. That rule is published alongside the rate so it can be held against us. We run no display advertising and no advertising network.
Who publishes it
Rank My Clinic is published by Northbank Media, an independent publisher of specialist titles. We are not a clinic, we do not treat patients, we do not sell treatments, and we do not sell marketing services to clinics. Nothing here is medical, legal or regulatory advice, and an instrument is not a substitute for professional advice on a specific question.
Corrections
Instruments are versioned by their publication date. If a criterion is wrong, unclear or unscoreable, tell us through the contact page and we will correct it and say so. We do not amend an instrument silently, because a clinic that scored against the previous version needs to know what changed.
